Best Season
Rara Lake Tour in Spring
Rara Lake is best visited from April to May as the weather is pleasant at this time of the year with the clear skies, rhododendrons flowering everywhere, brightening the mountain pathways, and the lake looking crystal blue. The view of the lake from the Murma Top, which is a two-hour trek above the lake, is breathtaking during spring.
Also, Rara in spring is a birder’s paradise. 270 of Nepal's 867 bird species can be found in the lake.
Tour in Monsoon
From June to August, it's not impossible to make a ride; it'll simply be more of an adventure! Heavy, long rains, muddy paths, and highly likely landslides may prevent you from continuing on a trail.
However, the shores of Nepal's largest lake burst into blooms in the rainy. The huge clearing beneath heavy pine forests on the southern portions of the lake at Mili Chaur is carpeted with multi-colored blooms.
The surrounding trees are a deep green this time of year, with veils of monsoon clouds gliding down the hills to the lake. The forest is teeming with musk deer, red panda, and Ghoral mountain goats, and the pine, juniper, and spruce with rhododendron and oak are clothed in lichen and orchids.
Rara Lake Motorbike Tour in Autumn
Autumn is also an excellent time to visit the lake. The monsoon is done, but winter has yet to come. Early winter is the best time to go exploring. The sky is bright, and the air is neither too hot nor too chilly. A breathtaking vista of snow-capped peaks beneath a brilliant blue sky. Hiking, trekking, and riding are all excellent activities to partake in during this season.
Everything is at its best, whether it's the beauty of nature, the temperature, the environment, or anything else.
Winter
Rara is a beautiful wonderland in the winter. Snow blanket the passes, resulting from bitterly low weather and roadways. It's a curious phenomenon, but the lake never freezes in the winter. You'll be moving above 2000 meters, so it'll be very cold during these months (December – February). There's also a good chance that your hiking plans will be canceled or postponed due to excessive snowfall.
