Poon Hill Short Trek Overview

Poon Hill Short Trek is an ideal trek destination for trekkers, especially for those time-restricted travelers who want to have a taste of the Himalayas. Also known as the Sunrise Trek, due to the magnificent sunrise views you get from Poon Hill (3,210 m).

Whether you are a beginner or a professional photographer – we bet that the panoramic views of the landscape from the hilltop will never disappoint you!

The real magical moment is in the morning when the darkness is shallowed by light, and in front of you lies the massive dazzling mountains of the Annapurna ranges.

Poon Hill Short Trek offers something stunning & unique, whether that be snow-tipped mountain ranges of the Annapurna region, endless grasslands, and dense rhododendron forests that stretch as far as your eye can see which seemingly never end.

A hot cup of coffee or tea on top of this hill along with other fellow travelers is the table talk of nature lovers who have been here before.

Like all the treks of the Annapurna Region, the way to reach Poon Hill is from Pokhara.

Our trekking trail for Poon Hill passes through dense rhododendron forest with chirping birds while passing the villages like Ghorepani, Ulleri, and Ghandruk where you get a true picture of Nepalese life and lets you understand the bonding between different ethnic groups living together. Gurungs and Magars are the major inhabitants of this region.

You can also combine this poon hill trek with Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Ghandruk, a 10 days package if you have a few extra days where you can enjoy more in the backdrop of the Himalayas.

The best time to visit Poon Hill is Spring and while crossing Ghorepani, you also witness the largest collection of rhododendron forests with blooming flowers.
