Kathmandu Nagarkot 3 Nights 4 Days Nepal Tour is quite a unique experience to explore both the natural and cultural essence of Nepal for real in no time. On this short tour, apart from Kathmandu and Nagarkot, we also make it to the ancient city of Bhaktapur.

In places like Pashupatinath, Swaymbunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar square - you can explore the historical monuments with old traditions and a different story to tell of their own.

Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa

Both of these temples have great significance and both are well-preserved heritage sites enlisted on UNESCO. 

Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Temple

Durbar Square is an ancient palace surrounded by different temples built as a pagodas style carved with ancient architecture. Swayambhunath temple was built in 13th century AD and is an important pilgrimage site to Buddhists. Also referred to as monkey temple, you can find many little stupas surrounding around Syawambhunath much alike Boudhanath Stupa. You also get to explore some monasteries and temples. 

Nagarkot

Nagarkot is a popular hill station located at the eastern side of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2170 m easily accessible within one and a half-hour drive. The best about Nagarkot is phenomenal sunrise and sunset views on the snow-capped mountains of Mount Gaurishanker, Langtang ranges, Dorjee Lakpa and even a distant view of Mount Everest.

Day 1: Kathmandu arrival & sightseeing

Our staff will pick you from the airport. After check-in at the hotel in Kathmandu, we will start our tour by visiting the Pashupatinath temple and then to the Boudhanath stupa - the two world heritage sites in Kathmandu city among the 7. 

Pashupatinath Temple is a huge pilgrimage site and one of the biggest shrine of Lord Shiva (Hindu Deity) & most sacred temple for Hindus. Boudhanath Stupa is also known as little Tibet of Kathmandu & is a spiritual site that shows two eyes of Buddha conveying the message of peace.

Day 2: Sightsee (Kathmandu & Bhaktapur Durbar Squares) & drive to Nagarkot

Today after breakfast, we head towards the Kathmandu Durbar Square and then to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. A walk from Kathmandu Durbar Square to Thamel is interesting as it goes through the oldest settlement of the Kathmandu valley and has the local market with clothing, spices, and groceries, etc. After going through these old palace areas we head towards the hill station of Nagarkot for Sunset view.

Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the center of the Kathmandu valley and has some of the most interesting monuments in Nepal. The Kasthamandap, the building from which Kathmandu derived its name, the Kumari Ghar, the House of the Living goddess Kumari, the Taleju temple and the most interesting the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, now a museum are some of the interesting buildings in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Besides that, the program of different kinds and gathering of people from all over Nepal makes it a lively place and the best place to understand Nepal.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square - Bhaktapur is also referred to as the city of Devotees and the fact is justified by hundreds of temples in the area. The home to the vibrant Newari culture, this is also the city of festivals. The 55 windows palace, the tallest pagoda in Nepal, the Pottery square and the museums in Bhaktapur has made it the best palace area in Nepal and also a must-visit place.

Day 3: Back to Kathmandu (optional early morning hike)

After the sunrise and mountain view at Nagarkot, we drive back to Kathmandu. You can make a 2 hours hike to the view the tower in Nagarkot if you wish otherwise simply can drive back to Kathmandu to spend some free time around Thamel, the tourist capital of Nepal. Thamel has al kinds of souvenirs for you to take home.
