Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrive in Paro

Max Altitude: 2,200 m

Arrive by Druk air BAe 146-100 series, the only national carrier. The flight offers you a beautiful view of mountains and landscapes.

On arrival and after visa formalities, you will be received by a representative of Himalayan trekkers and transfer to the hotel.

In the evening you can strooll around the street and visit the local market.

Overnight.

(In case of early arrival, you will have guided sightseeing of Paro Dzong, the National Museum)

Day 2: Scenic drive to Thimpu & sightseeing

After breakfast, you will have a short scenic drive to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan.

On reaching Thimpu, you will have guided sightseeing to some popular destinations like the King’s Memorial Chorten, Nunnery Temple, Changgangkha Monastery, Majestic Thimphu Dzong, Textile Museum, etc.

Besides that, we also go to the Central zoo to see the animals over there and among them the Takin, a goat-antelope is a major attraction as it is the national animal of Bhutan. You can also visit the radio tower on a hilltop, which offers a panoramic view of Thimpu city.

Day 3: Return to Paro

After a delicious breakfast, you will return back to Paro.  En route, you will have a chance to visit Simtokha Dzong, commonly known as ‘the place of profound Tantric teaching’. The site stands on the hill, a few kilometers from the town.

Upon arrival in Paro, you will chack in at the hotel and have a brief rest. 

With lunch completion, you will explore Ta Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang (temple/monastery), Drukgyal Dzong, and many other top attractions of the city.

Day 4: Hike to Taktsang (Tigers' nest) Monastery
3-4 hrs hike & 20 min drive
Max Altitude: 3,120 m

Soon after breakfast, you will be driven to the hiking point of the famous Taktsang Monastery which is also known as the Tigers' Nest Monastery. It is one of the most venerated pilgrim sites in the country which is located on a high cliff at 3,120 meters. After the exploration, you will have lunch at the cafeteria on your way down to the valley. 

Once in the town, you are free on your own.

Day 5: Final departure

This exicitng trip concludes today with a short drive to the Paro International Airport for the flight back to your home town or onward destination.
